A life’s work for health

Nothing is more powerful than an idea whose time has come! That was also the case for the young pharmacist Andreas Mohringer, after he caught a cold while on holiday in England and bought a cough syrup in a pharmacy there. He realised that identical products were sold at different prices in various EU countries. This price gap inspired his vision. In 1975, he founded EurimPharm, a company that offered original preparations from renowned pharmaceutical manufacturers in Germany at affordable prices. In doing so, he became a pioneer while also paving the way for a new industry.

David versus Goliath

However, the path to success was not easy. The pharma industry and special interest groups saw their profits threatened and opposed Mohringer. He countered them with extensive knowledge, persuasion and a great deal of staying power. True to his motto “There’s no such thing as ‘no can do’”, he finally won a case before the European Court of Justice for the inclusion of cheaper medicines in the wholesale product range in 1996.

He thus revolutionised the domestic market and saved the health sector in Germany many billions of euros. Today, his former opponents are trusted partners and EurimPharm supplies not only to all pharma wholesalers, but also to almost all German pharmacies. And so it was that he marketed a pharmaceutical product directly to hospitals in 1975 with his EurimPharm Arzneimittel GmbH.

Role model and trailblazer

Andreas Mohringer was also a passionate person outside of his work. He was committed to helping employees in need, aid organisations and, above all, disadvantaged children. As the president of two special interest groups, he was also a groundbreaking personality both nationally and internationally. With his death in 2023, he left his family a lasting life’s work – the eurimGROUP.

Values for the future

Today, the eurimGROUP consists of five companies with over 500 employees and is committed to affordable healthcare in the spirit of its founder. People and social interaction take priority here. Open and respectful interactions with one another are a matter of course. Our actions are characterised by responsibility and sustainability and aim to create meaningful added value for everyone. This vision of Andreas Mohringer will also be borne by the eurimGROUP in the future.

1975

Company founding
Founding of EurimPharm Arzneimittel GmbH in Nordkirchen as the first supplier of affordable imported pharmaceuticals in Germany

1979

Head office in Piding
After four years in Nordkirchen, EurimPharm begins a new chapter in January 1979 with its head office in Piding.

1998

Distribution in Austria
EurimPharm launches the distribution of affordable imported pharmaceuticals and medical devices in Austria. The company’s own medical devices are sold worldwide.

2003

Bavaria’s Best 50
EurimPharm receives the “Bavaria’s Best 50” award as one of the 50 most successful companies in Bavaria.

2005

30th anniversary
For 30 years, EurimPharm has proven itself as a supplier of affordable imported pharmaceuticals and medical devices.

2009

Bavaria’s Best 50
EurimPharm receives the award as one of the most successful companies in Bavaria for the second time as part of “Bavaria’s Best 50”.

2010

New head office
After a construction period of one year, EurimPharm moves its head office to Saaldorf-Surheim in June 2010. The company has approx. 500 employees. With 700 preparations with over 1,800 different strengths and pack sizes.

2013

Involvement in SecurPharm
EurimPharm is involved in the German pilot project SecurPharm on the implementation of the EU Falsified Medicines Directive

2014

Product range now includes narcotics
In June 2014, EurimPharm expands its product range with the narcotics segment.

2015

40 years of EurimPharm
EurimPharm records 40 years of company history and is the most experienced pharmaceuticals importer in Germany.

2020

The EurimSmiles® Plus Partner Portal & digitalisation of the POS campaigns
Our partner pharmacies can now also experience added value from EurimPharm on the online partner portal.
In the course of this modernisation of the current age, the EurimPharm POS campaigns have now also gone online.

2021

Best pharmaceuticals importer
EurimPharm was selected as the “Best pharmaceuticals importer” as part of the pharmacy cooperation study “Coop-Study 2021”.

Bavaria’s Best 50
EurimPharm receives the award as one of the most successful companies in Bavaria for the third time as part of “Bavaria’s Best 50”.
